Evan Michael Lockett
Evan Michael Lockett!
The sight of your beautiful face,
A blessing to so many
We have waited so long
To hold you in our arms
You were sent by God
As a miracle in our midst
Ten tiny toes,
And your long 'football' fingers
You are a perfect living example
of God's grace among us
We love you, Evan!
Thank you God for sending another miracle into our family!

It's been a while....
I have found that I am not very good at maintaining a blog. I love to look at other people's blogs and expect them to update...but I certainly have not been on top of things on my end. It is finally spring break, so now I have a chance to do a few things that I have been putting off.
I am still struggling with the idea that I am not making a difference in my wonderful student's lives. When I go back to work after the break I will have several interesting new cases. One student has a 5th chromosome disorder and just recently had her trach removed. The other kiddo suffered a traumatic brain injury about six weeks ago and is miraculously returning to school (for half days). These are the kinds of cases that made me want to work in a hospital setting in stead of a school...so I am kind of excited about working with a wider variety of students!
My spring break so far has entailed doing laudry, reading, and working out. Sounds pretty boring, but it is actually just the kind of break I needed. On Wednesday Chris and I are going to Temple because his brother's wife (my sister-in-law) is being induced. For those of you who don't know, this is a great blessing that she has been able to carry this baby to full term. Mike and Teresa have lost several babies in this process (both very late in the pregnancy), so we are all so excited to welcome a new baby boy into the Lockett family. Hopefully I will remember to bring my camera so that I can post some much-needed pictures onto my blog.
